Volunteer Opportunity: Lead Research & Impact Evaluation Volunteer — Schools Program

My Acts of Kindness (MAOK) is seeking a passionate, values-aligned Lead Research & Impact Evaluation Volunteer to help us build the evidence behind our Schools Program and show how kindness can create safer, more connected and more caring school communities.
This is a meaningful leadership opportunity for someone with a strong track record in research, evaluation or impact measurement who wants to make a real contribution to society. Working alongside the CEO, Schools Program Lead and senior volunteer leaders, you will help design a practical evaluation framework that measures how daily acts of kindness strengthen student wellbeing, belonging, empathy, respect and positive peer behaviour.
We are looking for someone who can contribute at senior leadership level, remain hands-on in the work, and respectfully challenge our team to use data and evidence to further enhance our impact. Your insights will help MAOK understand what is working, where we can improve, and how we can responsibly grow our reach through schools, partners, funders and government.
In this role, you will help:
Lead the development of MAOK’s Schools Program evaluation framework.
Design practical tools that schools can use with minimal burden.
Analyse data to identify trends, outcomes and opportunities for improvement.
Turn evidence into clear, useful reports for schools, the Board, partners and funders.
Guide and support junior researchers and university students as part of the research team.
Help demonstrate how kindness-led behaviours can reduce harm and build stronger school cultures.
We would love to hear from someone who brings:
Experience in program evaluation, educational research, social research, behavioural science, psychology, statistics, data analysis or impact measurement
A proven ability to deliver high-quality work and translate data into practical insight.
The confidence to operate strategically while staying close to the detail.
A collaborative, humble and constructive leadership style.
A genuine commitment to children’s wellbeing and kindness-led social change.
An interest in mentoring emerging researchers and helping others grow.

Time commitment: Approximately 3–5 hours per week, with flexibility during key evaluation and reporting periods.
